You've probably read that running your car on HHO can at least halve your gas bill - but that's not the only benefit. HHO fuelled engines also perform better, suffer less wear and tear and emit far less pollution. So how do you convert your engine to run on HHO? It's simpler than you might think.
What's needed are a few extra parts that, connected to your existing engine, will use electricity to convert water to HHO, or Brown's Gas. This high-powered gas - which is three times more powerful than regular gasoline - will then be funnelled into the intake manifold or carburetor to supplement your regular fuel supply. Because it's not necessary to alter the original components of the engine, the procedure is extremely easy to reverse.
Converting a car to run on water requires only three things:
1. A blueprint
2. The right parts
3. A spare weekend
You will see a number of blueprints available over the internet - as with everything, there are the good and the bad. A good blueprint can be purchased for $50 to $100 and should contain clear diagrams and comprehensive, step by step instructions that are simple for even a non-technical person to follow. The design for the HHO generator will probably be the most important part of your blueprint, as not all HHO generators are created equal.
The HHO generator, also known as the fuel cell, is the part that will produce your HHO gas. It is the component in which electrolysis takes place: a metal electrode suspended in water will receive the electric current that reacts with the water to make HHO. Depending on which system you use, the electrodes will be made either of coils, tubes or flat plates. For the sake of simplicity it's best to use a generator that has combined the water reservoir, electrolyzer and bubbler into one unit, in which case it should be housed in a PVC container.
Other components you will need are an electrical control circuit, tubing or hoses, and valves. For those systems where the water reservoir is separate from the fuel cell, you will have to purchase a plastic water tank. You are also going to need some basic tools: drill, screwdriver, hole-cutter, pliers and clippers.
Once you have your plans, your parts and your tools, you will be ready to put it all together. The time that this takes can vary based on your mechanical expertise, but you certainly don't need to be an expert to make or install your HHO kit. Anyone can do this. If you're not that mechanical you'll probably need a weekend to get it done, though someone handy with tools and cars should be able to finish in a few hours. Or, if you simply don't have the time, you can always ask your mechanic to do it for you.
Once the HHO kit has been installed, you can start running your car on water. This is the good part: you will see an immediate increase in horsepower and miles per gallon. Your carbon emissions will drop dramatically. Your engine will run more quietly and smoothly. You'll wonder why you've waited so long to make the conversion!
